Template:F2FormerDriverinfo Gustav Malja (born 4 November 1995) is a Swedish racing driver who previously competed in the FIA Formula 2 Championship in 2017 for Racing Engineering.[1] A former racer in the GP2 Series, Malja moved to the Porsche Supercup in 2018, having failed to secure a second season in F2 in 2018.[2]
Background
Malja began his career in karting in his native Sweden, before moving to the ADAC Formel Masters in 2011, his first race car series.[3] Malja would claim thirteenth in the Championship, before going on to finish runner-up in the series in 2012.[3] With that Malja moved to the Formula Renault Eurocup and the NEC in 2013.[3]
Junior Jostling
Come the end of 2013 Malja had secured 20th in the Eurocup and 15th in the NEC, results which secured second seasons in both series for the Swede.[3] 2014 saw Malja claim two wins in the NEC, securing fifth, although he was unable to reach the same heights in the Eurocup.[3] With that, Malja moved into the full Formula Renault 3.5 Series, while also getting run-outs in the GP2 Series and the FIA Formula 3 European Championship.[3]
At the end of 2015 Malja would secure ninth in the 3.5 Series of Formula Renault, and a full season seat in the GP2 Series for 2016.[4]

Post GP2/Formula Two Career
Malja secured a test-driver role with the Sauber team in Formula One during 2017, and would take part in the 2017 Hungaroring test.[5] For 2018 Malja secured a seat in the Porsche Supercup, as well as the German edition of the series.[6]
