Norman Nato (born 8 July 1992) is a French racing driver who competed in the 2017 FIA Formula 2 Championship, driving for Pertamina Arden.[1] A veteran of both the GP2 Series and F2, Nato would leave F2 after the 2017 season, having secured a seat in the European Le Mans Series with former GP2 employers Racing Engineering.[2]

Background[]

Nato began karting in 1998 at the age of six, progressing through the ranks to make his single-seater debut in 2010.[2] The Frenchman joined the F4 Eurocup that season, going on to lose in a duel for the title with Stoffel Vandoorne.[2] 2011 saw Nato move to the Eurocup Formula Renault series as well as the sister NEC series, although he had a quiet season in both.[2]

Renault Reliance[]

Nato remained in the Eurocup for 2012, while also taking part in the "Alps" series as well, securing second in the latter.[2] The Frenchman subsequently progressed to the full Formula Renault 3.5 Series for 2013, claiming a handful of points finishes.[2] Nato stayed in FR 3.5 for 2014, and duly improved to seventh in the Championship with two wins.[2]

GP2/Formula Two History[]

Post GP2/Formula Two Career[]

After opting against a second season in F2 (and a fourth at the GP2/F2 level) Nato secured a seat in the European Le Mans Series for 2018, re-joining Racing Engineering.[3] Nato's services were subsequently deployed in the World Endurance Championship for 2018/19, as well as the ELMS for a second season.[2]
